Clever golf advice

Tips that actually move your score.

No swing myths, no forty-minute videos. Short takes that survive the first ten shots, written by the coaches who use them.

1

Grip two fingers looser

Tension kills tempo. A half-inch looser grip bought eleven of our students four strokes on par-5s last season.

2

Aim at the flag's left edge

Most amateurs slice. Bias your target left and you'll find the green far more often than the rough.

3

Take 30% off the club you fear

When nerves spike, drop a club and swing smooth. Control beats distance on the scorecard every time.

4

Walk the last 100 yards

Reading wind and grain out loud before your approach cuts three-putts by roughly a third.

5

Putt to a dinner plate

Stop aiming at the cup from 30 feet. Aim at a plate-sized zone and your lag distance tightens instantly.

6

Warm up backwards

Start with wedges and finish with the club you'll hit off the first tee. Confidence should be the last thing you load.

Why Colorado altitude will fix your ball flight.

Thin air adds carry and mountain wind punishes a high, spinny miss faster than any coach can. Two rounds above 8,000 feet will teach you flighting and club math that a year of range balls never will — here's the drill sequence we give members before a Rockies trip.
